Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK, Minister of Family, Labour and Social Services came to Konya in order to pay a series of official visits.

Minister SELÇUK first attended to the Program on “International Day of Women and Girls in Science” held in Konya Science Center.

Addressing a speech at the program, Minister SELÇUK said that she was pleased to come together with women, girls and young people.

Congratulating the international day of all women and girls in the world and in Turkey, Minister SELÇUK said: “Once more, I would gratefully memorialize all our heroic women who changed our World, beautified and steered our country.

Today we are here, at one of Turkey’s leading science centers and we are here to talk about successes of our women and girls both in sicence and technology”.

“Our girls are seeds for future of the  developing, growing Turkey”

Minister SELÇUK memorialized Özgecan Aslan who was slaughtered 6 years ago and continued her words as follows:

“This is the 6th anniversary of the death of Özgecan Aslan.

On this occasion, we memorialize Özgecan who was brutally slaughtered in the prime of her life at the age of 19.

We wish we did not talk about feminicides, violence against women, but talked about what they achieved in science, art, education and sport.

By the end of this month, we will commemorate February 28 again. Our headscarved deputies and our academicians with whom we experienced the persecution of that period together are also here with us today.

So, we are here to talk about a world, a country where we can talk about the successes of our women, girls in terms of science, art, sport, education, in a world where there is no discrimination against women, including the one based on appearances, a world recovered from all kinds of psychological and physical violence.

We believe that girls are the seeds sown in the future of a developing, growing Turkey.

We make all efforts to raise you with great devotion.

You will be the engineer girls, software developers, lawyers of the future.

In the last 18 years, we have been striving to ensure that our women develop in all areas and take their places in decision making processes in all areas from education to health and from sports to art.”

Reminding that the National Space Program was publicized the previous day, Minister SELÇUK emphasized that there would be a period in the future when people would talk about female astronauts of the country.

“We Believe that The World Become a Better Place as long as We Harmonize Business and Family Life”

Drawing attention that women are also architects of social entrepreneurship and foundation culture, Minister SELÇUK noted that:

“Thus, we believe that our women who protect our families will add more strength to our country with their existence.

We all believe that the world will become a beter place as we harmonize business and family life.

As long as our women and daughters have a yearning for this.

I see our brilliant young people here.

I hope so that we will together build a stronger and more peaceful Turkey with them.

We will together prepare wonderful projects with you in this beautiful science center and in numerous universities and academic centers.

I believe that we will raise awareness by commemorating these days through such projects.

As the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Services, we will always continue to stand by our young people”

Minister SELÇUK visited Selçuklu Education Foundation for Persons with Autism

Minister Selçuk who visited oil and automobile factories within the scope of her program, then went to Selçuklu Education Foundation for Persons with Autism (SOBE).

Examining the education and activity classes during her visit, Minister SELÇUK also had a talk with students who attended to science camps.

Then, Minister SELÇUK visited the Governorship of Konya.

Welcomed by protocol members in front of the governorship facility, Minister SELÇUK had a meeting here with the representatives of CSOs.

After the meeting, Minister SELÇUK signed governorship’s honorary guestbook.

Minister SELÇUK also paid a visit to Konya Metropolitan Municipality within the scope of the program.

Minister Selçuk received information about the studies carried out in the province from Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay, then she went to Konya Provincial Directorate of AK Party.
