The activities carried out by the Directorate General of Child Services to strengthen the personnel working in the provincial directorates continues. The information and consultation meetings organized to include all issues in the field of children during the epidemic period have been held with the participation of personnel working for children at risk through activities of Children in Safe Program, Mobile Team and Mobile Child Social Service.
Meetings Held Interactive
With the meetings held with guidance and mutual exchange of views, it is aimed to identify children at risk in schools and in the field, and to strengthen the personnel who work to protect these children from risks.
The meetings, which have been opened by Zeliha Sağlam, Director General, have been held online in seven separate sessions covering seven regions. In the meetings which each session has been attended by employees working in provinces located in a region, the activities of Children in Safe, Mobile Team and Mobile Child Social Service Units, which have been transformed into a permanent service by increasing their number, have been discussed. Detailed information has been given to the participants about what needs to be done to activate the activities of the teams. Views have been exchanged mutually.
Significant Increase in the Number of Mobile Teams
Through Mobile Teams and Mobile Child Social Service Units established within the Directorate General of Child Services, activities are carried out on the streets and in schools for children in different risk groups. As part of the Children in Safe Program, children in different risk groups are monitored through social service centers and supported by the Ministry's social service models when necessary.
Mobile services created within the scope of protective and preventive projects for protecting children from risks have been turned into permanent services upon the positive feedback from the field. The number of Mobile Teams carrying out services for children in different risk groups on the street has increased from 139 to 274, rising by 97.1%. Within the scope of the Mobile Team service, nearly 24.000 (23.885) children have been supported so far.
Specific Work with Children and Family
Mobile teams, which investigate the reasons related to the risks faced by children on the street through field scanning, ensure that children and their families are supported with the social services and assistance they need, with the progressive activities they carry out. Mobile Child Social Service Units, number of which was 174 before, has increased to 241 rising by 38.5%. During the school and family visits, around 59.000 (58.124) interviews, 24.250 of which are children, have been held.
With the activities carried out within the framework of the Children in Safe Program, children in the risk group are supported by the Ministry's social service models. Experts have interviewed nearly 60.000 (59.275) children so far within the scope of the Children in Safe Program.
