Minister of Family and Social Services Göktaş: "We have reached 11.1 million citizens with ASDEP teams”
Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş commented: " Until today, 4.794 Family Social Support Program (ASDEP) personnel in the field have visited 6.7 million households. With ASDEP teams, we have reached 11.1 million citizens and provided guidance and counseling services regarding the services needed."
Minister Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş emphasized that the family was at the center of every service provided by the Ministry and stated that the protection of the happy, prosperous, mutually supportive and protective structure of the family was at the center of all the work. Göktaş said, "We start by supporting persons with disabilities, children and older persons in their own family environment if possible. If not possible, our other social service models follow. In this context, we have been determining the needs of families and individuals for social assistance and social services since 2017 with the Family and Social Support Program (ASDEP), which we have supply-oriented in order for citizens to benefit from public services effectively, and we have been implementing the appropriate service models of the Ministry as a result of the examinations."
Visits to 6.7 million households
Stating that ASDEP aimed to reach all households in need and improve their living conditions, Göktaş reminded that the officers known as "Red Vests" were in the field to support citizens in disasters and emergencies since the first minute. Göktaş noted the following:
"With ASDEP, we identify the social assistance and social service needs of citizens on site during household visits. 4.794 ASDEP personnel in the field have visited 6.7 million households so far. With ASDEP teams, we have reached 11.1 million citizens and provided guidance and counseling services regarding the services needed."
“We are working in coordination with other public institutions.”
Emphasizing that the Ministry worked in coordination with other public institutions in order to increase the access of citizens to the services needed by citizens, Minister Göktaş said, "ASDEP teams, who conduct area screening, provide information, guidance and counseling services to citizens on the services and needs through household visits. If the situations identified by ASDEP teams fall within the mandate of the Ministry, citizens are ensured to benefit from social service models. In cases outside the duties of the Ministry, citizens are referred to the relevant public institutions. To date, 334.732 requests have been directed to the relevant institutions."
