Derya YANIK, Minister of Family and Social Services, visited the nursing homes in Maltepe and Çamlıca due to the Ramadan Feast.
Minister Derya YANIK first went to Maltepe Nursing Home Elderly Care and Rehabilitation Center and celebrated bairam of the residents there.
In her speech here, Minister YANIK said that meeting with elders is very valuable for them.
Indicating that they also ensured their work in a sense, and that the most important reason for the visit was to receive blessings, YANIK said, "Being the recipient of your warm and sincere prayers is the greatest reward we have received. No other reward can be more precious to us than this. For this reason, it is a great source of happiness for us to come together with you and our children at every opportunity. Because bairam is a concept that has very special meanings for all of us. It's a concept that has a different meaning when you're a child, a different one when you're an adult, and it probably has a different meaning after you get older. It's beautiful in every season.”
Indicating that their service as a ministry and their interlocutors are all 84 million citizens, YANIK said:
“We strive to provide rights-based and equal services to all our citizens, from childhood, youth to old age. We are trying to serve our old persons in our institutions by providing all the social opportunities they need. If they do not have a special preference, we are in a position to meet the demands of all our citizens in terms of capacity. In this sense, we attach particular importance to active ageing within the service models of our Ministry. In the upcoming period, we are doing our best within our service models so that our elders can spend their lives productively with the prolongation of their life span. The satisfaction of our service areas, which are within the responsibility area of our Ministry, and their hosting in the best possible way is our responsibility and our main motivation. It is important to come together with you at every opportunity, to see these works in place, and to evaluate them together with your comments. It was a precious moment for us to be with you this bairam. The pandemic is over, from now on, we will come often at every opportunity.”
"It is important to meet with our residents in the areas we serve"
Minister YANIK, then, visited Professor Dr. Fahrettin Kerim and Nilüfer Gökay Nursing Home Elderly Care and Rehabilitation Centre in Camlica.
Minister YANIK stated that Çamlıca Nursing Home is a place she frequently visits.
Expressing that she was happy to meet with the residents of the nursing home on the occasion of the holiday, Minister YANIK said:
“It is very exciting to meet and visit. First of all, I congratulate your bairam. I hope we will meet again in many beautiful, peaceful and happy holidays. With health, happiness and peace all together... Ramadan has a different spirituality. It is also something to be thankful for in order for us to realize this and then reach the feast. It is also important for us, as the Ministry, to meet with our residents in our institutions in the areas we serve. Your satisfaction or complaint is a scorecard of our services. In this respect, we visit our institutions at every opportunity we find and we try to meet with you. Your blessings, especially our elders, are our source of motivation.”
